Cate Allen and Jen Whiting, mother and daughter, traveled the Missouri River with husband and partner, by canoe, and together wrote A Year Without Time. Each chapter has two voices, two views, published side-by-side.
Cate Allen spent many years in Russia managing Abbott Laboratories' Moscow office, and has lived in Switzerland, Germany, France, England and Scotland. She was a seminar speaker for American Management Association, and now owns her own seminar company, The Throckmorton Group.
Jen Whiting studied writing at Harvard University, attended The National Outdoor Leadership School, taught climbing and outdoor leadership at Cornell University, and now is a manager at Princeton University. She began publishing her writing in newspapers at the age of 15.
